Nottingham Diocese: LGBT+ Mass in Leicester – 2nd November

The fourth annual Mass for LGBT+ Catholics, their families and friends, organised by the Diocese of Nottingham, took place in the parish church of the Sacred Heart in Leicester on All Souls’ Day (2nd November). The celebrant was Fr Simon Robson OP, assisted by the two parish deacons, the Reverend Bill Myers and the Reverend Seamus O’Looskan. Between 30 and 40 people attended the Mass, the first to take place in the city. It is the intention of the organisers to rotate the annual Mass between the major cities in the diocese. The particular intention of the Mass was for those who were tortured, died or killed because of their gender identity or sexuality.

The parish priest, Monsignor John Lally, joined the congregation and clergy for refreshments in the Parish Hall following the Mass.
