Lorraine Milford – Committee member
My initial contact with the LGBT catholic community came after I spotted in ‘Time Out’ a reference to masses in St Anne’s Soho, this was about 2005. What joy I had discovering that! Following the move to The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory in Warwick Street, I served on the Pastoral Council. It was during that time I met members of Quest; despite regular invitations to their annual conferences, I never did follow them up.
Fast forward to 2016, the conference emphasis was on gender. Having transitioned a few years previously, I felt here was an opportunity to engage with two somethings that have and continue to be, part of me; namely, my faith and my gender. It had taken me decades to reconcile the two; I am totally comfortable with the situation.
